DC holds Orientation Conference, SY 2021-2022 by Jenny Pedroso

A zoom orientation conference for Junior and Senior High School students and parents was held on September 9, 2021, at 9 a.m. Dr. Romulo T. Mirasol, Jr., School Director, delivered the Words of Welcome and the introduction of the Administrative Staff followed. The Junior and Senior High School Administrative Staff were introduced by Mrs. Rebecca R. Duran, JHS Principal, and Mr. Nestor V. Gonzales, SHS Principal respectively. The topics discussed during the online orientation were the following: Mission/Vision of the school School Philosophy Goals/Objectives School Calendar 2021-2022 Important Dates/activities Learning Modality Virtual Platforms Guidelines during Online Class How to Submit Learners’ Outputs/Answer Sheets Home-School Partnership How to get in touch with Teachers Questions and other Concerns.

The conference was officially closed by Mr. John Ralph Ruiz.

Diaz College conducts Virtual College Orientation 2021 By Ddanilyn Christine Gimony Diaz College conducted a virtual college department orientation on the 27th of October 2021, hosted by Ms. Jeannyrose Goyha. With the participation of Dr. Romulo T. Mirasol Jr., the School Director of Diaz College, opened the program. Announcing another milestone of the school with a population of more than 1,900 college students. The Diaz College Board of Directors with the Administration and Staff expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the continued trust and support of the school for allowing it to provide quality education even amidst the pandemic. All college students participated in the virtual orientation for the school rules and guidelines, the introduction of faculty and staff, and a little tour of the school campus. The said event was then closed by Mr. Hubert T. Intan, OIC of the College Department.

DC joins Pre-Service Teachers’ Congress 2021 by Melissa Ayong
 
A joint CHED-DepEd Memorandum Order or the policies and guidelines on the deployment of Pre-Service Teachers for Field study and Teaching Internship held a Pre-Service Teachers’ Congress 2021 on October 29, 2021. It was attended by Teacher Education Institutions from Region 1 to 11, including Caraga Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and NCR. Diaz College Field Study and Practice Teaching Students attended the online conference together with their advisers and supervisors Mrs. Rebecca R. Duran (MA Ed), and Mrs. Haide S. Canaveral (MA Ed), with College Department OIC, Mr. Hubert T. Intan. The context and rationale of the said congress were to inform the field on the new policies and guidelines supported by CHED Memorandum Order No. 4, S. 2020, DepEd Order no. 12, S. 2020, and DepEd Order No. 12, S. 2020 which ensure the health, safety, and security of the teacher, students, pre-service teachers, and other stakeholders during the time of the pandemic. The revised Policies and Standards for Undergraduate Teacher Education curriculum was supported by CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) 30, S. 2004 and CMO 74 to 80 and 82, S. 2017. Field study and Teaching Internship courses as mentioned by Dr. Marie Therese AP. Bustos, must be experiential using the different new normal learning modalities. It should be developmental through coaching and mentoring and aligned with the Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) and Mos Essential Learning Competencies (MELCS). Diaz College has always held a yearly School Level and Division Orientation Conference for Field Study students and Practice Teachers to ensure that proper dissemination of policies and guidelines shall be strictly followed.

“Diaz College holds School Level Campus Journalism Webinar” By Rhoy Villaflores

Diaz College conducted School Level Campus Journalism webinar last September 2, 2021. The said webinar was joined by the different students and educators of the institution. It was held to further train aspiring journalists within the school campus. The said webinar pushed through with the utilization of various gadgets of the participants such as laptops, cellular phones, etc. Hosted by Mr. Rhoy Villaflores, a fourth-year BSED student of the institution, the program started with a prayer followed by the Philippine National Anthem. Mr. Johannes Vallega, who is also a fourth-year BSED student of the school, then opened the program with his opening remarks. After his words, the introduction of the participants and the guest speaker, Mrs. Haide Canaveral, followed. Then, the lecturers of the program proceeded after Mrs. Canaveral’s inspiring message. The said lecturers were: Mr. Jino Gerodias for news writing, Ms. Marjorie Torres for feature writing, Mr. Vencent Isidor Silva for editorial cartooning, Mr. Rodimar Ramirez for editorial writing, Mr. Jasper Emmanuel Ferrer for sports writing, Mrs. Haide Canaveral for copyreading and headline writing, Ms. Gracelyn Tapis for photojournalism, and finally, Ms. Jeannyrose Goyha for radio broadcasting. The said webinar was then closed by Ms. Melissa Ayong, a fourth-year BEED student of the institution. The successful webinar aimed at developing the school’s aspiring journalists to always side with authentic news, intervene to help citizens, and make sense of factual information amid lies and fake news.img-5
